ONE STAR IS TOO MANY STARS! Driving to work Wednesday 12/5/13 when I heard a collision behind me and then was immediately rear ended. Seems the car behind the car that hit me, hit the car that hit me, causing that car to hit me. 3 car accident on a straight, unobstructed, flat road on a clear sunny day. When the police arrived, the person who hit the car behind me admitted fault, how could he not as he rear ended someone, and he was ticketed for driving too fast. All 3 cars were towed away. The at fault driver has Horace Mann insurance. When we arrived at the body shop where my car was towed I was informed by them that it was my further bad luck to have been hit by someone who is covered by Horace Mann as they will drag their feet and do virtually anything to avoid payment. As soon as I got home, I called Horace Mann to report the accident and request a rental car so that I could go to work. I was told someone would get back to me. No call back. I called several times on the 6th and was told that they were still investigating the accident ( a rear end collision where the driver admitted fault) and that I would not be given a rental car until, and unless, they accepted responsibility. They, on several occasions, suggested I file a claim with my insurance company for the repairs and rental car......Just as I was warned by the body shop that they would do. They would love to have my company relieve them of their responsibility but I'm not willing to accept the rate increase this will cost me, so........ Still sitting here 2 days after the accident with no rental car and no approval by this rotten insurance company to start the repairs to my vehicle which was so badly damaged that the body shop informs me it will be 3 to 4 weeks to repair AFTER they receive the approval from Horace Mann.
